Here at Smart Labs, you and your information are very important to us. As such, we take the matter of protecting our users’ information and identities very seriously. When you or any other user creates an account, builds a course, or completes a quiz on the ScienceASAP website or application, you generate some data. Together, members of our community generate great amounts of data that is up to us to store, protect, and deliver back to you when you need it (for example, when you wish to view past performances on quizzes). To offer you these services, we ask you to share data such as your name and email address when you create an account. We might also ask for your grade level in order to determine what type of content to suggest to you first. This data is special as compared to many others because it is what we call “identifiable information” in the business. While other data we collect (grades, for example) is not quite as sensitive as the identifiable information mentioned before, we know it is important to you and so it is important to us as well. As such, we take extreme caution in where and how we collect and store your data and exactly who gets to see it (if anyone).
To keep your data secure, Science ASAP makes use of industry-leading data management and storage solutions from AWS (Amazon Web Services). All information and data our users generate when they use our site is stored in Amazon’s Canada Central Servers. For more information on the measures taken by AWS to protect user data, feel free to click the following link: https://aws.amazon.com/compliance/data-privacy-faq/
